Preventative Care Services
We value you as an individual and our holistic services are a different approach to your dental care. Our health and wellness dental practices allow us to get to know you as a whole person not just a dental case. We consider your needs and goals.
Each patient can expect to receive a complete and thorough examination. With our findings we develop a treatment plan that is uniquely individualized for your needs. As partners in your dental and overall health, our commitment is to keep your teeth healthy and sustainable for years to come!
Your wellness evaluation will include:
Oral Cancer Screening

Oral Cancer screening - Oral cancer can affect the tongue, lips, gums, cheeks and throat. When caught in an early stage, oral cancer can be treated. Each and every dental care check appointment includes a screening for oral cancer. Patient education is paramount , so along with examining the tissues we educate our patients on what early soft tissue changes to look for to prevent the progression of oral disease. If for any reason you have a lump, bump, ulceration or any area of concern in or around your mouth, please call us so we can schedule you an appointment for an oral cancer screening today.
Blood Pressure Check

Blood Pressure Check - Tracking blood pressure readings is vital to your good health . As part of your comprehensive and long term health this is the perfect opportunity to screen for uncontrolled hypertension. By monitoring your heart rate we are taking measures to ensure your safety and comfort at the dental office and at home.
TMJ Exam

TMJ Exam - Muscles joints and ligaments of the jaw are evaluated for any dysfunction and any problematic symptoms evaluated. If any TMJ disorder exists and treatment is deemed necessary, Dr. Minadeo-Fox offers various methods to reduce the symptoms, relieve discomfort and improve function.
Occlusal Exam

Occlusal Exam - Dr. Minadeo-Fox will give you a complete examination to determine the state of the occlusion - which is the bite and the way the teeth come together, preferably in harmony.
Peridontal (Gum Disease Exam)

Peridontal (Gum Disease Exam) - As we now recognize, the systemic benefits of a healthy mouth begins with healthy gums. Periodontal disease can be prevented if caught early and treated. That is why we take care and precision to thoroughly examine every patient for periodontal disease. We offer many non-surgical ways to treat and cure gum and periodontal disease, and the best cure is prevention.
Additional Preventative Care Services
Professional Cleaning:Your regular cleanings are an important line of defense against periodontal disease and are essential to your overall health. After assessing your periodontal health, your hygienist will tailor your cleaning to your individual needs and customize a cleaning interval appropriate for maintaining periodontal health. Most importantly, she will instruct you on the best way to brush and floss for optimal oral health.
Anti-Cavity Treatments (adults and children):We have various treatments that help prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque , bacteria and sugars in the mouth. Some also reverse early decay. Patients with certain conditions such as dry mouth, gum disease, history of frequent cavities, and the presence of crowns and bridges can benefit from these treatments.
Dental Sealants:The back teeth, molars and sometimes pre-molars have deep grooves on the chewing surfaces that are difficult to clean. Bacteria, however, have no problem getting down to the full depths of these grooves and causing decay that can be hard to detect until it is quite advanced. Dental sealants now offer a means of successfully protecting molar and premolar chewing surfaces from decay. Recognized by the American Dental Association as a key means of cavity prevention, dental sealants are a thin resin film that can be applied to your at-risk tooth surfaces.
Patient Education:Throughout your dental visit with us, we use every moment to educate you on how to care for your teeth so they will last for a lifetime. We also teach you about the relationship that exists between your oral health and whole body health. Most importantly, we enjoy entertaining your questions and do our best to provide you with helpful answers and solutions.
Snoreguards:Snoring if not treated is an issue that can affect relationships and one’s general health. Snoring can have serious risks if it results in sleep apnea (a serious condition where one stops breathing and there is a disruption of oxygen flow to the circulatory system and brain). We will partner with you to help you or someone you know stop snoring. Snoring has serious health risks including high blood pressure, stroke and cardiovascular disorders. Contact our office for your screening, it can be a life changing decision!
Night Guards:Bruxism or teeth grinding is one of the most common sleep disorders. If you are one of the million people that clench or grind your teeth together, you may greatly benefit from a night guard or splint. Tooth grinding, or bruxism as it is known, can cause destruction that can be difficult and costly to restore.
Sports Mouth Guards:Every year athletes lose teeth due to playing a contact sport without a mouthguard. Before you go out in the rink, pitch or field, come and visit us today and let us custom fit one for you. Dentist made sport guards are more comfortable and far more effective than generic mouth guards and can be made with your team colors!
Breath Treatment:(Halitosis) - Bad breath can be embarrassing and even sometimes a deal breaker. Bad breath is often a sign of other oral conditions including gum disease. We can help you eliminate bad breath using the very latest technology along with giving ideas on how to combat this problem with healthy food choices.
